So a few friends and I discussed some topics and couldn't really come to an agreement on some of the things we said. You guys are probably smarter than all of us, so I wanted to hear what you guys have to say.
1. Can a hole be removed? 2. If two people (one on each side of the Earth) dig a hole towards each other through the earth (two holes) and then end up meeting in the middle, are there still two holes? Or is it one hole? 3. Does a Ring Torus have a hole? 4. If you have a hole, but then take away material to the edge, is it still a hole? Or is it a notch? Did you remove the hole, or did you just "change" its properties? (pic related, when you have a crack in a cymbal, you can cut around it to the edge to solve the issue.) 5. Does a tube have one hole or two holes?
sup nerds im not a very scientific guy, im having this argument with a friend about cancer and these two stats kept popping up. >Approximately 39.6% of men and women will be diagnosed with cancer at some point during their lifetimes (based on 2010-2012 data). >The number of new cases of cancer (cancer incidence) is 454.8 per 100,000 men and women per year (based on 2008-2012 cases).
I know this may sound weird but here we go. Lately I needed to write a presentation in physics, when I started diging into wikipedia and learning about quarks and quantum mechanics, I got really intrested. I also enjoyed watching vsauce and channels related to science. does abybody have any recommendations regarding books/other media like videos about phsics, chemistry, astrophysics, biology, technology, medecine etc...? I really do enjoy these topics so any help would be appreaciated. btw sorry for my bad english im from germany.
What's the likelihood of humans being wiped out in a catastrophe caused by computers?
I've heard that computer-related apocalypses are mostly pop-sci, how true is that though? Surely they'd have all the computers that are controlling systems that can end human lives isolated from the Internet and unhackable right?
Hey. TOT Ok so >let's just say I recently studied code >I got this problem that if let's start from the beginning >all of humanity, that is based in a computer coded version of itself that is consequently becoming self aware > I'm a worker that performs at this company that got asked that question >I'm a loser and I want to answer this question because it promises at least another +2 in life as a whole so then it's possible for CEO money and bitches >step one: decipher this shit >step two: answer it >apply solution >Wait 5 years >during that time rediscover Then put that back into the fabric of the code itself? >What the fuck should I base all of this on as far as a coding language goes? >2spooky4me
